Back in 1979, this was a Christmas gift to me by a dear friend. I must confess that Anderson's drakes seem too comical or comic to me, while at the same time being disturbing. I also did not like the book's description of Dragon Trysting as a violent and wounding sort of conjoining.

...but I was still young then. It, sadly, all makes sense to me now.
