| Actually,
the best thing about this episode is that Peter is finally learning how
to ride and, more importantly, how to interact with his horse...a new,
more collected and taller bay. He's not a bad hand at that. Yay, Pete.
All in all he just seems more
comfortable in his role and he's got a cinematographer who appreciates
his fine features. |

| On the way to
the bandit's lair, Helms is told to put on a blindfold. He refuses, laughing
and threatening to ride back to town, until the henchman points out Alejandro
on the lookout point. Helms thinks better of his refusal and puts the blindfold
on for the rest of the ride. |

| Helms tends to the Serpent's
wound while... |
the party responsible for
same is making her way up the canyon. |
I know it hurts, but you should
try having a baby sometime... |
 |
 |
 |
| Not with you,
eh, Doctor. But, seriously--you're a hand with a gun, an unusual doctor.
We could use you. Why don't you stay?
I'm flattered, Serpent, but
I have a whole town to take care of already--and one really persnickety
senorita. I should be going.
Serpent notches his gun at
Helms' throat.
Let's not be hasty and do something
I'll regret, Helms comments, cool as ice.
Everybody laughs at that, Serpent
puts his gun down.

| Come
here. Come here, the Serpent says, jovially.
Helms leans in close and gets
such a smack across his right cheek.
Then the Serpent orders him
blindfolded and taken back home. |

 |
| On
the way, Helms' guard runs afoul of the Queen, a gun goes off between them
and the bandit dies. All the while, Helms is bound and blind and busy trying
to settle his horse through the melee. |

| The
Queen approaches him, unties his hands and he removes his blindfold, rushing
to Alejandro's side, only to find him dead.
I though we had a discussion
about this before, Queen. He was only taking me home.
Bound and blindfolded?
Well, you like leather, I like...
Why don't you just tell me
something that will help me catch the Serpent, Doctor?
No. Can't. Patient confidentiality.
Yes, Doctor, but what about
the safety of all your other patients?
You wouldn't understand. It's
a matter of honor, Queen.
Or a matter of vanity, Doctor.
He's a murderer.
Well, that makes two of you,
Queen. |
