Dr. Helm digs through the ruined office, looking for clues. He finds the blasting cap and brings it to Montoya, suggesting that someone is out to get the colonel by keeping the medicine unavailable.
The fever isn't killing you. Someone's using it to kill you. Someone with a knowledge of military explosives. Hmmm. I wonder who that is?
Meanwhile, back at the hacienda, Tessa is taking care of Marta, giving her lemon grass tea. Marta reminds her that too much will make a person sweat like a hog. Convinced now that Grisham has hidden the medicine, Tessa gets back into town and flirts with the captain, giving her an opportunity to drug his wine. The lemon grass makes Grisham think he has fever and he soon excuses himself and takes off to the mines where he's stashed the medicine.
There goes Grisham... ...and Helm... and rounding out the field...
Grisham digs up the medicine... just as Helm arrives.. but he is unarmed and the captain soon has him at gunpoint. The doctor says something about Grisham being an intelligent man.
Wrong.
The Queen arrives in the nick of time and Helm bails out of the way. The Queen overpowers Grisham, but the advantage turns as he throws dirt in her eyes. Grisham's gun lies on the ground in plain site, but Helm just stares at it.
Helm finally picks up the gun, but he's torn about using it. Shoot him! Shoot him! yells the Queen.

Nah, he's a healer, Grisham sneers, he won't shoot me.

Helm sites down the barrel and...
Hits the middle of the blade as Grisham raises it to finish the Queen. Even Helm looks a little surprised that he made the shot, though he is clearly a marksman. The Queen gets Grisham under control.
The Captain wants to know how Helm came to be so good with a handgun.
Robert replies it was just a lucky shoty.
Tessa locks the captain up in the mine shed and takes the medicine from Helm. She pours out a small portion for "a sick friend," and gives the rest back to the doctor. She is also curious about his skill with the gun.

Helm dodges the question again. "I'll send you my bill."
